I used to listen to a lot of house music. That’s how I really got introduced to funk snippets, small chunks of disco goodness and other funky elements looped together at a rapid pace. As I started collecting vinyl, my musical tastes became more particular. I wanted to hear more than just four-second funk samples, so I gravitated more toward older wax.
Still, there’s always room for good house music. Callahan’s “The Sound” is the kinda house music I grew up loving. I’m gonna start scanning more of my records and posting up funky music downloads. I’ve had a nostalgic urge to reconnect with house music, so Funk Deli’s first vinyl rip is a slice of new school funky fun.
