Funky Commercial Tells the Story of Adi Dassler and Adidas
February 8, 2008 5:08 pm Funky Shoes, Funky VideosThis funky commercial runs through the history of the Adidas brand by following Adidas founder Adi Dassler through his workshop. You’ll see highlights from Adidas storied past — running shoes for Olympian Jesse Owens, cleats for the German national team who won the 1954 World Cup, boxing boots for Muhammad Ali, shoes for tennis players, hip hoppers, Bob Marley, Liverpool F.C., Oasis and the rest of us.
Produced by ad agency 180 Amsterdam, this cool claymation commercial is sure to turn some heads. More than thirty people worked on recreating Dassler’s workshop. It took over a month to build. To top it all off, German actor Jurgen Prochnow (of Das Boot fame) adds Deutsch-flavor to the narration.
