Funk ‘n Waffles is a kickback restaurant that combines quality funky music with a chill atmosphere and some seriously tasty breakfast treats. If you’re going to be anywhere near Syracuse University in New York, you need to check this place out.
Funk ‘n Waffles was started by to former Syracuse students — Kyle Corea and Adam Gold. Duting their Junior year at Syracuse, these dudes would cook up waffles and serve them at house parties. As the demand grew for their delicious waffle creations, Kyle and Adam thought that they were on to something. They entered a business plan competition and made the semi-finals. The dudes didn’t get the $40,000 first place prize, but they were awarded Creative Excellence honors and they put together a plan to open up their Funk ‘n Waffles restaurant.
After graduation, Kyle and Adam took over the La Tazza coffee house located in Campus Plaza. Their business is thriving on a simple model of coffee, espresso, breakfast snacks, delectable waffles and welcoming funky music. Funk ‘n Waffles now offers shows, catering services and delivery.
