Finding funky kicks can be a challenge, but Puma has made the process much easier with their Mongolian Shoe BBQ site.
The site let’s Puma lovers everywhere design their own custom-made Puma shoes. All you have to do is register, log in and start designing. The base model shoe is the RS-100 (retail price — $130). This is your blank canvas.
All of your materials and design elements must be selected from the spiffy Mongolian-theme buffet display. Once your design is complete, you can pay for the shoes and have them delivered to you in five to seven weeks. Designs can also be saved for future modification.
Shoe chefs can also create their own kicks in person at the following Puma Store locations: San Francisco, New York, Boston, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul and Paddington.

Fun·ky Ar·che·ol·o·gy noun. — The systematic study of past human funkyness and soulful, funky culture by the recovery and examination of material evidence, such as funky 12-inch records, old 45s and other forms of funk paraphernalia.
Kids who love hunting for funky vinyl understand that funky archaeology has its downsides. Sifting through old crates of records in garage sales, flea markets and thrift stores can lead to the dusty fingers, the sniffles and of course, the super sneezes. Digging for hidden wax treasures can be quite rewarding, but if the records you bring home end up sounding like dirt, then all your excavating efforts will have been in vain.
But a new tool is available for the funky archaeological toolbox! The Vestax Handy Trax is a sleek, battery-powered portable turntable that’s durable and easy to carry. At virtually any angle, the turntable can play records at three speeds (33 1/3, 45 and 78 RPM). With a built-in speaker, spiffy handle and a convenient headphone jack, you’ll never have to guess about a record’s funk quality ever again. Why bring home stacks of old, possibly-not-funky records when you can preview your vinyl selections at will, anywhere you go?
