Funk Deli loves vinyl. It’s tangible and imperfect. It’s interactive and personal. True lovers of vinyl would never abandon their collections for the convenience of non-analog advancement.
But hey, things change. People change. Hairstyles change. Interest rates fluctuate.
Technology happens.
When music technology moves forward, you can resist for only so long. At some point, the need for accessibility is going to take over. But who can really turn their back on a sick vinyl collection?
How do you deal with the quagmire of CD turntables?
The answer is simple: combine your love of vinyl with the desire to move forward. Keep your records. Grab your MP3 CDs, and throw them all down on one turntable CD player.
Finally you can enjoy the best both worlds with this Gemini Professional Turntable/CD Player Hybrid System
Here are the specs:
Professional Turntable/CD Player Hybrid System

Supports play of vinyl albums and CD-A, CD-R/RW and MP3 CDs Simultaneous play of albums and CDs with 4 outputs Turntable with high-torque and direct-drive mechanism Slot-in CD mechanism with instant start and frame accuracy CD scratch capable via turntable control
Sure, purists will need a bit of push. Who really wants to scratch CDs anyway? Still, you can’t deny the handiness of burning a disc and blending your favorite MP3 tracks in with your finest vinyl selections.
Don’t abandon the old school, but don’t turn your back on the future either.

It’s Tuesday y’all, so let’s keep the track jackets coming. This funky Indonesia-themed track jacket is part of the Adidas Materials of the World collection. This collection debuted in late 2006. Here’s a description of the collection from a 2006 press release:
The collection proves adidas’ outstanding capability of mixing the authenticity of well-established adidas silhouettes with inspiration from various cultures around the world, especially their traditions when it comes to clothing, material or patterns. Each product therefore not only breathes the heritage of the adidas brand, but also tells a story about a culture, or a race and their habits. The contemporary street edge will strongly appeal to today’s style adopter.
These collections include track jackets, hats and classic shoes with cultural twists. If you want to see more examples of this collection, check out the Materials of the World collection booklet designed by Designliga.
A lot of these collection pieces are hard to find. If you come across one of these Materials of the World track tops, be sure to pick it up.

During the NBA All Star game in New Orleans on Sunday, Phoenix Suns point guard Steve Nash was talking trash about his Nike Trash Talk shoes. These funky shoes are the first pair of performance sneakers that Nike has manufactured using nothing but recycled waste. They’re stylish, game-ready and eco-friendly. Now when you lace up to hit the courts, you can do you part to save the planet.
The Nike Trash Talk shoes were modeled after Nash’s existing shoe — the Nike Zoom BB II Low. Nash is excited about the opportunity to get the word out about his new environmentally friendly b-ball kicks.
“Any opportunity to promote the environment and preserve our planet is a step in the right direction,” Nash said in a press release. “I’m very excited to be one of the first athletes to wear the Nike Trash Talk. I think people will love the shoe, and hopefully by wearing it I can inspire others to try it out as well.”
Way to look out for Mother Nature Steve. That’s how Canadian Santa Clara alums roll.
